Just wonderful! From first contact, to the late night presence, good morning wishes, calm manners and happy staff. Love the art work in the hotel, gardens.... I spent alot of time trying to assimilate to the time difference just looking for the next art piece. We really enjoyed the bikes and pool. The 24/7 room service menus were excellent and it was so good to be able to wash our clothes. Lastly.... Tohu wines! So good. Ngā mihi maioha kia koutou! If I were to offer constructive feedback.... It is very practical to utilise the bathroom basin to wash cups and fill the hot water jug, however... perhaps bottles of water in the fridge to offer instead. I am Māori, it is a cringing idea to contemplate taking such items into a body washing and cleansing area ie: tapu (sacred), tikanga (customary practice) We managed by refilling our water bottles and rinsing our cups in the garden. Thats all I got... cultural thoughts and affirmations. Thank you

I absolutely loved the little romantic touches added to the room in celebration of our 1yr anniversary. • the fruit bowl filled with chocolates included • champagne and wine glasses nicely set up with a single stem rose in vase • the postcard of beautiful Mt. Taranaki was a nice touch also and we are very appreciative thank you 😊 The room itself was very spacious and pristine. I liked having the option of being able to relax and watch the TV(s) either in the living room area or the bedroom. The garden was very well maintained clean/tidy - I loved the Marble statues and I loved being able to have the option of relaxing in the sun under shade/umbrellas set at the tables and having a cigarette dispensary for those of us whom smoke. The pool I thought was based in a convenient location not too far from the tables/seating area for those who have young ones to keep an eye on.

The hotel had lots of facilities to entertain the kids. There's a seating area outside for mini pinics, a sunshade area with outdoor furniture to view the poolside, and people watch or provide supervision and changing rooms with jacuzzi as well as the regular pool. You can have breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the same building with Marbles restaurant downstairs. I had a spa bath in our room with two tvs, so you dont have to fight over the tv. Free wifi is also available. Walking distance to local shops - we walked all the way to New Plymouth mall and eateries. We also had free laundry and dryer in our room for long stay. 😁 also looks like the pool exterior got a repaint which was great.

The pool and spa were awesome although they need an easier way to get in and out of the pool as the steps are very deep steps . The staff were awesome and really went above and beyond for us . The tv in our room was old and not working so well and they got one of the staff to put a new tv up . They upgraded our rooms to interconnecting rooms without any extra charge . The cleaning staff were also amazing and helped me to carry bags in from the car and bought us fresh towels when they were needed.

The Devon is a gem. Our room was a Queen and although smallish it was but comfy. The price was extraordinary for the place. It was more like a resort. Great public spaces; bars; restaurants; art everywhere. A bonus was the free guest washing facilities. Friendly staff and lots of parking. No need to go anywhere as this place caters for your entire stay. AU$193 for 2 nights was an absolute bargain.
